Bodegas Lecea means passion of a winegrower family that have been producing wine for generations. Their winery is located on the original village of Barrio de las Cuevas en el Cerillo de Verballe (La Rioja Alta) which is formed by 350 small wineries. All of them are being running by genuine farmers.
However, Bodegas Lecea is one of the few wineries of the village that still producing their own wine.
Besides, the cellar of Bodegas Lecea is built on stone caves of the 16th century. These caves are 14 metres deep and have been used for ageing wine for centuries. The depth of the caves provide the perfect conditions for keeping the wine by their levels of humidity and a constant temperature of 13° during the whole year.
