Moritz beer has an exciting story which has been always linked with the city of Barcelona.
In 1851 a young man left his hometown in Alsacia, Pfaffenhoffen, and travelled to Barcelona, a city that was developing itself industrially. That young man was Louis Moritz Trautmann and soon started working in a small brewery in the Rabal neighbourhood. In 1856 he already was the owner of the brewery and by 1864 he created the first brewery factory in Barcelona city, in Sant Antoni Avenue.
The taste of Moritz: As a beer loving friend from Barcelona said: “Very slightly buttery but a lovely blend of German and Czech character sorts things out well enough. Clean as a whistle pale gold with a thin white head. It is actually really tasty. Good slightly sweet malt, really nice delicate citric hops. Lovely balance of sweet and bitter. Very drinkable. A pleasant surprise.”
